About the Coalition
Founded in 2021, the Coalition for Innovative Lab Testing unites clinical laboratories, entrepreneurs, scientists, healthcare providers, and concerned citizens around a shared vision. Beginning in 2025, federal health agencies are shifting their focus from treating late-stage illness to preventing chronic disease. We engage directly with agency leaders and members of Congress to demonstrate how innovative diagnostics can prevent, detect early, and better manage conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and strokes, cancers, dementia and Alzheimer’s, and mental illness. Our advocacy supports policies that empower clinical labs to contribute to the Make America Healthy Again initiative, promote healthy aging, and reduce costs across our healthcare system. If you’d like to get involved, learn how you can join and support our MAHA Working Group.
Since our launch, we’ve also stood firm against unnecessary FDA overreach. We’ve streamlined our website by removing the outdated “Sign our Letter to Congress” materials and consolidated the latest resources under a clear “Take Action” section. There, you can sign up to learn how to help advance new legislation in the 2025–2026 Congressional session that makes clear that CLIA, not the FDA, holds exclusive federal authority over the regulation of laboratory-developed tests.
